What is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-amino-acid recombinant analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1): an arginine at position 3 and an N-terminal extension of 13 amino acids.

Mechanism
Mechanism in research
Because of these modifications, IGF-1 LR3 binds much more weakly to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) than natural IGF-1. More of it therefore remains freely available to the IGF-1 receptor, which the literature describes as a stronger and longer activation of the PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways in cell culture.
